Use the resources below to help create an amazing Expo experience for your students!

Lunch:

  • Several food vendors will be available on-site and there are numerous establishments in the area.

  • Please make group lunch plans in advance. There is no designated lunch area, but students are allowed to eat anywhere within the Fairgrounds.

Who’s coming?

  • We anticipate over 200 booth spaces, representing colleges and trade schools, military and public service, and businesses from across the state.

  • Get the full list of businesses and institutions that will be hosting booths at the Expo. (registrations will continue to be added)

  • Please Invite Parents of your students to help increase student engagement. We have provided a flyer and Parent letter template.

Exhibitor Expectations:

  • Exhibitors will be expected to interact with your students, but students are also expected to engage with Exhibitors.

Classroom Lessons and Materials:

  • Educator Packet and the Expo App

  • This resource offers a comprehensive lesson plan designed to prepare students for a successful Career Expo. It includes six progressive lessons with various teaching materials like presentation slides, activity sheets, and engagement strategies, all intended to support student readiness. The program aligns with the Kansas Career Development Cycle and encourages the completion of Individual Plans of Study (IPS) activities and digital portfolio updates. We have provided customizable practical tools within the Educator Packet, making it suitable for all secondary grade levels.

Get prepared for the Career Expo

Make sure to check these tasks off your list:

  • Watch the orientation video to the right

  • Prepare students using our weekly guidance

  • Explore the Expo App at expoapp.essdack.org

  • Invite Parents to attend with their student

  • Participating students should create a profile in the Expo App, allowing students to save favorites and request information from exhibitors!

Navigate the event with the Career Expo App

The Career Expo App will be used by your students to navigate the event. It will provide a list of all booth spaces with the option to filter by career field and cluster. The Expo App will list booth description, activities, and apprenticeship opportunities if applicable. The app is also allows students and parents to exchange contact information with exhibitors!

  • To begin using the app, go to expoapp.essdack.org or scan the QR code to the right.

  • It is a web-based app, there is no need to install it.

  • Students can use the app to create a favorites list as they plan their visit to the Career Expo.
