Spearville USD 381 is a fully accredited public school district serving the students and families of Spearville, Kansas. The Spearville USD 381 Board of Education, in partnership with ESSDACK and Greenbush, is conducting a comprehensive search for its next Superintendent of Schools. This process is designed to identify a visionary, ethical, and collaborative leader who will advance student achievement and organizational excellence while upholding the values of the Spearville community.

What We’re Looking For

The Superintendent of Schools serves as the district’s chief executive officer, providing visionary and ethical leadership to advance student achievement and organizational excellence. Reporting directly to the Board of Education, the Superintendent oversees instructional programs, personnel, finances, and district operations, ensuring compliance with all state and federal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

The Superintendent will:

  • provide leadership in implementing Board policies and district initiatives

  • serve as the primary advisor to the Board of Education

  • oversee district budgeting, financial stewardship, and long-range planning

  • lead instructional improvement and district-wide strategic initiatives

  • foster positive relationships with staff, students, families, and community partners

  • promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

  • ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing public education

What You’ll Bring

Qualified candidates will demonstrate:

  • A Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or Administration

  • Valid Kansas Superintendent licensure or eligibility

  • Successful leadership experience as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, or principal

  • Strong knowledge of school finance, budgeting, and resource management

  • Experience in strategic planning, organizational leadership, and program evaluation

  • A commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered decision-making
